We are seeing a number of hoax emails in circulation claiming to be a valid message from our Support Department. So far, the email addresses are helpdesk@netcom.co.uk and customercare@netcom.co.uk. These emails do not originate from Net Communications (www.netcom.co.uk) and should be deleted. The email addresses are being faked. Net Communications do not and never will request your account access details via email. The emails have similar subject lines: UPGRADE YOUR netcom.co.uk EMAIL ACCOUNT NOW!
YOUR ACCOUNT UPDATE and the body of the messages are in the following format: "Dear Valued Customer, This message is from Net Communications Webmail messaging center to all netcom.co.uk email account owners. We are currently upgrading our data base and e-mail account center. We are deleting all netcom.co.uk email account to create morespace for new accounts. To prevent your account from closing you will have to update it below so that we will know that it's an existing and presently used account. CONFIRM YOUR EMAIL IDENTITY BELOW: Your Name : Contact Address: Email Username : EmailPassword : Phone Number: Warning!!! Any Account owner that refuses to update his/her email account within Seven days of receiving this warning will lose his/her account permanently. Sorry for the inconviniencies but we assure you of proper and immediate upgrade so as to enable you make use of your account as soon as possible. Thank you for using netcom.co.uk! Warning Code:VX2G99AAJ Thanks, WEB TEAM LEADER" or: "Dear netcom Webmail Subscribers, This is to formally notify you that we are presently working on the eXetel,and this can close your webmail account with netcom (netcom PtyLtd) completely. To avoid this, please send your Surname: Password: to netcom (netcom Pty Ltd) customercare email address:netcom_customercare1@yahoo.com First name: Last name: Please do this,so your netcom Webmail account can be protected from being close from spam/phishing emails. Your immediate response is highly needed" If you receive email similar to these, ignore and delete them. If you have followed the instructions in the email and responded with your username and password, please contact us immediately to avoid any security issues with your account.
