Email issues following server upgrades: 

Enable Email SSL : After the upgrade is complete the servers will only be accepting email connections that are protected using SSL. All modern email clients and devices (phones, and tablets etc) support this and it is likely already configured by default. Usually it is simply a case of ticking a box in your email software to enable SSL/TLS.

Check incoming (POP3/IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) email server names. 

If your domain name and email hosting is with Net Communications, then you should be using mail.YOURDOMAINNAME for the incoming and outgoing server names, your username and password will still be the same.

If your email accounts is @ netcom.co.uk, then you can continue to use mail.netcom.co.uk as the incoming and outgoing server names.

Incoming Server Ports with SSL ON:
IMAP Port: 993 
POP3 Port: 995

Outgoing Server Ports with SSL ON:
SMTP Port: 465

For those accounts storing emails on the servers, these would have been copied across and re-downloaded by your email clients as new emails.  These can me then marked as read when the download has completed.
